About NBSC

The National Bank Staff College, Lucknow an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Institution is a unit of National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD) . This arm of NABARD has specific mandate of imaprting training and continuing education to the officers of NABARD. The training provided by the NBSC is based on the Training Need Assessment carried out on an annual basis.

The College has well qualified and experienced team of Faculty Members to cater to the diverse needs of training. A profile of the Principal, Vice Principal and Faculty Members of NBSC is given separately

It is our firm belief that unless we constantly strive and keep ourselves updated, we cannot deliver training products aligned to the needs of our Organisation and others who have been deputing their Officers to NBSC. Towards this end, apart from the steps which faculty members take upon themselves of their own, there are also 4-pronged organizational strategies to support their endeavours. These are as under:-

  • To undertake visits for preparation/ updating of reading material/ case studies, etc.
  • Deputing to various Training Programmes, Workshops, important Meetings, etc of relevance to NABARD
  • Study Circle Meetings
  • Holding of Faculty Meetings periodically

The forum of Faculty Members works as a great performance management tool in every Training/ Academic Establishment of repute. So is also the case with NBSC and its Forum of Faculty Members. Be it for

  • finalizing the ensuing months' programme calendars,
  • peer critiquing for improving the future programme design and/ or delivery,
  • designing new programmes,
  • planning session for a new topic,
  • gaining commitment for shared responsibilities,
  • finalisation/ updating of course material,
  • generating ideas on issues referred by HO, RBI, Central Government or other important stakeholders, making strategic decisions aimed at proper upkeep and maintenance of campus and college assets, or
  • feedback received from trainees
  • sharing of the Top-Management's expectations and the emerging action points following Principal/ OIC's discussions at Head Office,
This forum sharpens every Faculty Member's way of viewing his job responsibility as well as provides a very democratic/ participatory framework for working together for achieving the common objectives/ goals of the NBSC. In our efforts to upkeep the traditions of a very rich inner and external environment, we have been continuously making improvements in infrastructure every year.
